Dr. Lai graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Physiotherapy programme. Since then, he has worked in different hospitals and rehabilitation centres in Hong Kong including Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Kowloon Hospital. In 1985, he went to Australia to pursue his Master degrees in Sports and Orthopaedics Rehabilitation. Then, Dr. Lai started his own private clinic in Australia, specializing in sports injuries and work rehabilitation, in 1989. During this period, Dr. Lai served both the state and national baseball teams of Australia. In addition, he acted as a consultant for occupational health and safety and work ergonomics. In late 1990s, Dr. Lai returned to Hong Kong and was employed by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as the Rehabilitation Clinic Manager. He also worked as a Physiotherapy clinic manager of Union Hospital. In 2008, he obtained his PhD degree from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research focuses on work rehabilitation and psychology of the injured workers. He has published research papers in international renowned journals.
Dr. Lai is the founder of Prime Rehabilitation Services with the vision to provide quality and holistic rehabilitation services to Hong Kong community. He is interested in musculoskeletal injuries, sports injuries, ergonomic assessment and work rehabilitation. Dr. Lai believes that a holistic approach combining hand-on techniques, Chinese acupuncture as well as tailor-made therapeutic exercises can provide better outcomes for patients.
Ms. Li graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and obtained her Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy. As an experienced physiotherapist who worked in different private clinics after graduation, she helps patients with various problems such as musculoskeletal problems, sports injuries and work rehabilitation.
Ms. Li believes that both physical and psychological well-being is vital to the recovery of an patient. In order to deliver a holistic treatment, she further her studies and obtained a Diploma in Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Clinical Hypnotherapy. She furthered her study in Aromatherapy and is determined to help patient’s recovery with acupuncture, exercise therapy and manual therapy.
Ms. Kwok graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and obtained her Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy. She furthered her studies and obtained a professional diploma in Acupuncture from the Hong Kong Baptist University. Ms. Kwok is specialized in acupuncture, manual therapy, prescribing therapeutic exercises and post-operative rehabilitation.
Ms. Kwok has learned a wide variety of treatment techniques including positional release technique and sports injury management. She is also an instructor of clinical pilates, which is very effective in training back and neck stabilization muscles as well as treating chronic spinal problems. Ms. Kwok had also been an on-field physiotherapist for Oxfam Trail Walker.
Mr. Chan is a registered physiotherapist, graduating from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1982. He has been working as a physiotherapist for more than 36 years and has been active in professional and voluntary services in Hong Kong. He had worked in public hospital and non-government organization, serving elderly and people with physical or mental disabilities . He graduated as a Chinese Medicine Practitioner in 2008 and is a member of the Hong Kong Association for Integration of Chinese-Western Medicine. Starting from 2014, he has been invited as the guest lecturer of various programmes. It includes courses on Pain, Stress management and SEN (Special Education needs) clients offered by Hong Kong Society of Professionals Training as well as courses organized by The World Young Women’s Christian Association and Employees Retraining Board.
His major areas of expertise are musculoskeletal pain management, Chinese Medicine for emotional sickness, anti-aging management and health cultivation.
Clinic Manager
Mr. Dennis Chan joined Prime Rehabilitation Services in 2018. Prior to Prime, Dennis worked in public hospital setting for several years where he gained experience in rehabilitation services in various specialties.
Dennis is a registered physiotherapist and an accredited acupuncture practitioner. He graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and MSc in Manipulative Physiotherapy.
Since obtaining professional qualification, Dennis has completed different physiotherapy courses on acupuncture, taping etc. He is also determined to polish his manual techniques through participating in various certificate courses. Together with the skills, Dennis will make endeavour with his heart to provide comprehensive treatments to every clinent.
Clinic Manager
Mr. Ares Shum graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy. He joined Prime Rehabilitation Services in 2022 and prior to Prime, Ares worked in public hospital and community settings for several years, having myriads of experience in orthopedics, medical, surgery, sports rehabilitation and neurological rehabilitation accompanied with an array of on-field experience with different sports ranging from rugby to basketball.
Ares is also a registered physiotherapist accredited in acupuncture and manual therapy. He is currently studying for a Master of Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy to further enhance his clinical manual technique and is eager to further ameliorate his clinical skills through different courses.
Ares thrives on digging deep to investigate the source of your musculoskeletal issues, combining different techniques including manual therapy, dry needling and myriads of equipment to help alleviate your symptoms while designing specific exercise for you to recover and prevent further injuries.
Miss Lee graduated from BSc Science (Hons) in physiotherapy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She worked in private clinic after her graduation, with experience in managing different acute and chronic pain situations, as well as sports injury. To provide a wider variety of treatment choices, she has studied sports taping courses and is currently studying modern acupuncture courses. She has also worked on-field to provide physiotherapy service for rugby players. She hopes to enhance the client's situation in a longer term through therapeutic exercises and daily life modifications.
Mr. Daniel Tam graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. After graduation, Daniel worked in public hospitals, gaining experience in various areas such as orthopedics, paediatrics, medicine, surgery, and having extensive experience in neurology, pain management, and postoperative rehabilitation.
During his practice, he continued to pursue further education and obtained certificates in different treatment courses, including an Postgraduate Diploma in Modern Acupuncture, Certificate in Kinesio Taping, and Hong Kong Football Medicine Physiotherapist certification. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine and Health Science. Depending on individual symptoms, Daniel employs manual techniques, acupuncture, and electrical modalities, along with tailored exercises, to achieve comprehensive and targeted therapeutic effects.
Mr. Keith Lau graduated from Hong Kong Tung Wah College with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) degree. After graduation, Mr. Lau worked in public hospitals, gaining experience in various areas such as orthopedics, medicine, intensive care, and neurological rehabilitation, treating patients with pain, post-operative conditions, and neurological rehabilitation.
During his practice, he continued his education and obtained certificates in various therapeutic courses, including Kinesio-taping, manual therapy, and Bobath concepts. He aims to provide comprehensive rehabilitation programs for patients by utilizing multiple treatment methods.
Keith incorporates manual techniques, acupuncture, and electrical modalities to alleviate various pain conditions, while also incorporating tailor-made exercises to achieve comprehensive treatment effect.
Mr. Tony Chow graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Physiotherapy. He has been working with the Hospital Authority for more than 8 years, gaining extensive clinical experience in orthopaedics, pain management, and neurological rehabilitation. During his years of practice, Mr. Chow further enhanced his clinical knowledge by completing various courses, including a Master of Sports Medicine (CUHK), Modern Acupuncture, Kinesio-taping, musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound, fascia blade techniques, and integrated kinetic neurology approaches.
Mr. Chow excels in employing manual skills and acupuncture for pain and symptom relief. He is also an expert in motion and biomechanical analysis, which allows him to identify root causes and design tailor-made rehabilitation programs for his clients.
The mission of Mr. Chow’s rehabilitation practice is to help his clients regain body strength and capacity, enabling them to return to their meaningful daily activities with enjoyment and pleasure.
